Concrete Work in Mission
Concrete driveways, sidewalks, foundation pads, curbing, and decorative stamped concrete with precision forming and proper reinforcement. Engineered for Mission's conditions, where mission receives 1,700 to 1,900 mm of rainfall annually, more than Abbotsford or Langley, because of its position at the base of the Coast Mountains and the orographic lift effect.
Concrete Work Built for Mission's Conditions
Concrete is the most versatile building material in outdoor construction. From structural foundation pads and garage slabs to decorative stamped driveways and polished walkways, properly placed concrete delivers decades of maintenance free performance. In the Fraser Valley, concrete work requires specific attention to mix design, reinforcement, and curing practices to handle our climate's freeze and thaw cycles and high moisture levels.
A concrete Work project in Mission has to handle conditions most contractors underestimate. Upland Mission (Cedar Valley, Silverdale, Mission Heights) sits on glacial till with frequent rock outcrops, often hitting bedrock within 18 to 36 inches. Hatzic, Ferndale, and the river flats are silty alluvium with a higher water table. Hatzic Prairie is organic lowland soil similar to Sumas Prairie in Abbotsford. Mission receives 1,700 to 1,900 mm of rainfall annually, more than Abbotsford or Langley, because of its position at the base of the Coast Mountains and the orographic lift effect. Upland neighborhoods see more freeze thaw cycles than the Fraser lowlands. Stormwater events are common from October to February. Trueform engineers every concrete Work project for the actual ground under your property and the actual weather it will see, not a generic Lower Mainland spec.
The District of Mission requires a building permit for retaining walls over 1.2 metres and often requires engineered drawings for any wall on a slope steeper than 30 percent. Hillside development permit areas impose additional requirements on excavation, tree removal, and stormwater control. Trueform handles all permits and engineering. We complete concrete Work projects across all of Mission, including Cedar Valley, Silverdale, Hatzic, Ferndale, Mission Heights, College Heights, Cherry Ridge, West Heights, Mission City, Hatzic Prairie, Stave Falls. Every quote starts with a free onsite consultation so we can match the design to your lot, your budget, and the permit timeline that applies to your address.

Trueform Tips
Assume every upland Mission project will hit rock. Budget for it in the quote, not as a surprise change order. Never skip the drainage plan in Mission, because runoff volumes are higher here than anywhere else we work. And in Hatzic Prairie, plan for slight settlement the same way we do on Abbotsford's Sumas Prairie.
Concrete Work Cost in Mission
Standard concrete flatwork in the Fraser Valley costs $8 to $15 per square foot for basic broom finish slabs, $12 to $25 per square foot for stamped or decorative finishes, and $10 to $18 per square foot for exposed aggregate. Concrete driveways typically range from $6,000 to $15,000 depending on size and finish. Foundation pads and garage slabs are priced based on size and reinforcement requirements. In Mission specifically, the cost driver to watch is the soil and access combination. Assume every upland Mission project will hit rock. Budget for it in the quote, not as a surprise change order. Cedar Valley Hillside Terrace System
A Cedar Valley lot with a 2.8 metre grade drop across 14 metres of backyard. We excavated through a rock shelf with a hydraulic breaker, installed two Allan Block retaining walls with geogrid reinforcement and integrated French drains, built a 36 square metre natural stone patio on the upper terrace, and installed a granite tread staircase connecting the terraces. The final build turned a steep unusable slope into three distinct outdoor zones.

What Mission Homeowners Say
We had been told by two contractors that our slope was too steep for a usable backyard. Trueform designed a three terrace solution that added a patio, garden, and lawn. Worth every dollar.
Jordan B.
Cedar Valley, Mission
The river side of our lot always flooded in November. Their drainage plan solved it on the first winter. I did not have to call them back once.
